Eden Pet Center has never lost a dog in our custody as was reported on Channel 2 News during the morning news broadcast of 8/25/10.

As reported in the Orlando Sentinel a dog was lost while in the care of the Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. This was also reported by Channel 2 News.

We received a call from an unidentified caller on 8/24/10 to come and look at our kennel to find out about boarding dogs. As we always welcome people to examine our kennel, we told the caller that he was welcome to come. A channel 2 News reporter came and requested to do an on camera interview about dog boarding. He did not identify what the story would be used for. The story aired that evening about the Leesburg Veterinary Hospital loosing a pet, but the station incorrectly showed footage of Eden Pet Center during that story, creating the impression that the footage was of Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. They broadcast correctly a portion of Ivy’s interview that we take the security of our dogs very seriously, and that we have never lost a dog.

The following morning it was reported to us by multiple customers that Channel 2 had re-broadcast the story stating that Eden Pet Center had lost the dog during the 5:00 am broadcast. They also broadcast the story on Channel 18 in the 8:00 broadcast, but did not name Eden Pet Center, only naming the Leesburg Veterinary Hospital, but using the Eden Pet Center footage including footage of Ivy as file footage, leaving the impression that it was Ivy and Eden Pet Center that they were talking about.

The stations reporter was contacted by e-mail to request correction of the story. As of this posting, that correction has not occurred.

Please be assured, that Eden Pet Center takes the custody of your pets very seriously, and will do everything in our power to return your pet to you safely at the end of your pet’s stay with us. We have been in business since 2005. We have never lost a dog from our current location. In our previous location we had 1 dog tear thru a fence and escape that was eventually recovered in 2005.
